Graphite electrode special for electric light EDM
Since the equal static press isotropy graphite was born in east
ocean carbon 1974, the infinite possibility of graphite was came
too. Recently, graphite used for EDM electrode material has been
widely generalized and applied for its strongpoints such as high
discharging speed、high cutting character、low weight、rapidly
shaped、small expanding quotiety、low wastage、easy to finishing, etc.
It is an inevitable trend to substitute for copper electrode.
High quality features compare with copper electrode:
* better electric conductor than copper, high discharging speed is
3-5 times of copper ,endure geater electricity when discharging ,
more favorable when electric light rough manufacture . * mechanism hardness is smaller than copper in the normal
temperature, high speed for CNC processing, generally speaking,
high speed mill rough process is 2-3 times faster than copper, high
speed mill finish machining is 4-5 times faster than copper, can
save lots of time and process cost. * can save material cost to some extent, the density of copper is
8.9g/cm3
but the density of graphite is about 1.8g/cm3, 1/5 of copper,
deduct the callback cost of copper ,it can save about 15 percent of
the cost. * graphite is brickle and hard, convenient for making kinds of
different complex graphite electrode, unlike copper, it is easy to
bend and distortion , then it will have influence on the precise of
model. * good heat stability, not intenerate and distort in high
temperature, especially, its hardness boost up one time on the
contrary in 2000℃ because of the release of remainder stress in it,
the contact among crystal become tightly for granule expanding.
When discharging process there is less wastage , just 1/4 of
copper. * There is no burr problem when CNC process ,because graphite has
self-lubricate character. |
